Discuss kidney health with your family and faith community!
Looking out for one another means learning and talking about health.
Kidney disease is the loss of function in your kidneys, meaning that they can no longer filter blood the way they should. You're more likely to develop chronic kidney disease if you have diabetes or high blood pressure. African Americans are more likely to get it as well. Though treatable, kidney disease can't be cured. To prevent it, avoid smoking or overuse of medication.
