Pittsburgh Creative Arts Festival

The Pittsburgh Creative Arts Festival is an annual event that brings together makers, vendors, and art lovers for a weekend of fun. Members of The Shawl Project, our fiber arts ministry, look forward to this event every summer. Be sure to stop by and say hello!

Exhibitors will be selling their wares in the marketplace on Friday and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

This year's class list includes opportunities to learn how to knit, crochet, weave, stitch, create jewelry, and more! BCM's own Myrna Patterson will also be teaching Yoga for Artists and Crafters on Saturday and Sunday at 9:00 AM.

Learn to Knit & Crochet:

Want to learn how to knit or crochet? Take a class with The Shawl Project! Our talented makers will be holding free classes all weekend long.

Crochet: Learn the basic chain and single crochet on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings starting at 11:00 AM. Students will need to bring crochet hook size H, I, J, or K and worsted weight yarn.

Knit: Learn the cast on, knit, and purl stitches on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoons starting at 2:00 PM. Students will need to bring US size 8, 9, 10, or 11 knitting needles and worsted weight yarn.
