Summer Youth Program
The DiSYPles Summer Youth Program is a no-cost, in-person program designed to strengthen the Homewood community with quality summer programming to enhance academic performance and life skills in a safe environment for Homewood children.
Serving youth ages 5 to 12 years old, our summer camp program provides enrichment activities, mentorship and character building, and academic support with a focus on S.T.E.M. and reading.
Registration is required. Email Amanda Taylor to sign up: [email protected]
Our summer program helps youth retain knowledge, build life skills, and have fun in a safe environment during the summer.
Supporting Scholarship
SYP supports scholarship with exposure to high achieving professionals, academic field trips, and activities in science, tech, engineering, math, and reading.
Addressing Hunger
SYP seeks to address childhood hunger in the Homewood community by providing two free hot meals per day, alongside nutrition education opportunities.
Improving Behavior
SYP strives to reduce delinquency-related risks for youth through character building exercises, informal counseling, and relationship building.
Building Confidence
It is hoped that by participating in SYP at the Bethany Center, Homewood’s children will have a greater sense of safety and security in their community.
Sponsor a child for summer camp in 2025!
Children from low-income families are significantly less likely to attend summer programs, with parents citing cost as a major barrier.
According to a recent survey, 38% of families making less than $50,000 per year said their child participated in a structured activity during the summer in 2023, compared to 67% of parents making $100,000 or more — nearly a 30% gap.
Sponsor a child to attend our summer program with a Campership!
The DiSYPles summer program keeps kids learning all summer long with daily activities that emphasize STEM and reading. Students enjoy field trips and experiences that encourage them to try new things. Summer camp also helps them grow as people and connect with their peers.
DiSYPles provides an enriching six-week camp experience, costing $500 per camper. We aim to raise $12,500 to fund camperships for 25 campers, allowing families to send their children to camp free of charge.
